1. Check the hue and surface roughness of the edge banding. The color of the surface of a good edge banding is also very important. Is the color close to and brighter than the customized product? If the surface is very rough and has traces, the quality is definitely not good. This is the surface quality problem of the edge banding. It has little to do with the quality of the inner material of the edge banding. It mainly depends on the production process of the edge banding factory and the production technology skills of the employees. A good edge banding is: the surface must be smooth, no bubbles or very few bubbles, no traces or very few traces, moderate gloss, not too bright or too matte (unless there are special requirements).
2. Check the flatness of the surface and bottom of the edge banding, and whether the thickness is uniform, otherwise it will cause the edge banding and the board to be joined, the glue line is too eye-catching or the gap between the board and the edge banding is too large, affecting the overall beauty. Details determine success or failure. Often a small detail problem may bring an embarrassing situation of poor overall effect.
3. Is the edge trimming whitish? Is the surface of the bending edge banding strip seriously whitish? Is the base color of the edge trimming strip close to the surface color of the difficult board. PVC edge banding strips are mainly made of PVC, calcium carbonate and additives. If the calcium carbonate content is too high, the edge banding and bending will turn white, which proves that the quality of this type of product is poor.
4. Is the strength okay and is there any elasticity? High strength means good wear resistance, and the corresponding quality is also better. Too high strength also means increased processing difficulty. Low elasticity means low wear resistance and low anti-aging ability. In addition, according to the actual production needs, manual trimming is generally required, which can be appropriately soft, and the automatic edge banding machine can be appropriately hard.
5. Is the backing glue evenly applied and is it easy to fall off during use.
6. Smell whether the PVC edge banding strip has any smell. Products produced with good quality raw materials generally have little smell. If the smell is too strong, it means that the quality of the raw materials used in production is relatively poor.
7.Check whether the surface of the edge banding strip is smooth and flat, and whether there are any spots. If there are spots or fine pinholes, it may be made of recycled PVC. Check whether the back of the edge banding is flat. You can use a flat blade to clamp the edge banding horizontally to see if it is straight. If it is not straight, thick glue lines will appear on both sides after edge banding. If the back of the edge banding is flat, and there are still thick glue lines after edge banding, you can check it in the following ways: Check whether the saw surface of the board is flat. If the specifications of the upper and lower saw blades are different when sawing the board, there will be small steps on the saw surface when sawing the board, which will affect the edge banding. Check whether the hot melt glue is too thick. Check whether the thickness and pressure adjusted by the edge banding machine are coordinated. Use a small section of edge banding to seal the edge, then tear it apart forcefully to check whether the bonding strength between the edge banding and the hot melt is reasonable and uniform. If the strength is insufficient, check whether the temperature of the hot melt glue of the edge banding machine meets the use standard.
8.Check whether the side of the board is uniform after trimming. If it is serrated, it may be due to the following reasons: The trimming knife is too blunt; The edge banding is too hard; The edge banding contains too much calcium carbonate. Scratch the edge banding with your fingernails or other tools. If damage occurs, the surface wear resistance and hardness of the edge banding do not meet the standards, indicating that the quality of the edge banding is unqualified.
