The conventional use of edge banding is to use an edge banding machine to band the edges. The fully automatic linear edge banding machine has the best effect, followed by the manual curved edge banding machine. If there is no equipment, you can use a universal glue to seal it manually, but the effect is poor. The ideal use temperature is 190-210 degrees. Due to the different brands and models of hot melt adhesives, it can also be used at 120-210 degrees according to the characteristics of hot melt adhesives. The higher the temperature, the better the bonding. It is recommended to use high-temperature hot melt adhesives as much as possible to achieve the ideal effect.

Since there are many brands and models of hot melt adhesives, please use them strictly according to the temperature requirements of hot melt adhesives. Use the lower limit of the hot melt adhesive temperature in summer and the upper limit of the hot melt adhesive temperature in winter. If it is lower than or higher than the use temperature, the hot melt adhesive will degenerate and fail to seal. The edge banding is made of PVC as the main raw material, which has a certain plasticity. It must be neatly stacked during transportation and storage. Do not drop it during transportation, otherwise it will cause abrasion, scratches, deformation, and inability to pull straight.


During the use of edge banding strips, if it is a manual edge banding machine or a semi-automatic edge banding machine, the trimming will be white, because the equipment does not have a polishing function, which is a normal phenomenon.


During the edge banding process, if the edge banding strips with a thickness of less than 0.6MM become soft, stretched, deformed, and cannot withstand high temperatures, it is because the edge banding speed is too slow and the hot melt adhesive has been retained for too long after melting. You can improve it by speeding up the edge banding speed, high-speed conveyor belt speed, and adjusting the amount of glue. The reference speed is above 8M/min. If it is a double-sided glued edge banding machine, this phenomenon generally occurs less frequently.


During the use of edge banding strips, if the edge banding phenomenon occurs, please check whether the temperature is normal, whether the edge banding speed is too slow, and whether the room temperature of the use environment is lower than 8 degrees. Domestic hot melt adhesives have poor resistance to low temperatures, and imported hot melt adhesives can be used at a room temperature of 5 degrees. If the above are normal, please check the quality of the hot melt adhesive and the quality of the adhesive backing of the edge banding strips.

During use, if the glue line is too heavy or there is glue overflow and drawing, please adjust the edge banding machine speed. If there is no improvement after adjusting the hot melt glue temperature, please change to a suitable model.


Test the bonding strength. After the edge banding is completed for 2-3 minutes, wait for the glue to cool down, tear off the edge banding strip. The edge banding strip must be adhered with hot melt glue and particle board, fiberboard sawdust. If there are too few sawdust or no sawdust, it will not stick and will be unqualified.
